White Poly-Aluminum Chloride (PAC) powder

White Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC) is an inorganic polymer coagulant widely used in water purification, wastewater treatment, and industrial processes such as papermaking and sugar refining. It works by neutralizing the surface charges of suspended particles, allowing them to aggregate and settle more easily.

This white powder type is typically a high-purity, food-grade product suitable for drinking water applications. It is manufactured through a spray-drying process, ensuring excellent solubility and stable performance.

Description

White Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC) is a high-efficiency inorganic polymer coagulant widely used in water purification, wastewater treatment, and industrial processes such as papermaking and sugar refining. It works by neutralizing the negative charges on suspended particles, allowing them to aggregate into larger flocs that can be easily removed through sedimentation or filtration.

This white powder PAC is a high-purity, food-grade product, typically manufactured through a spray-drying process to ensure excellent solubility, low insoluble content, and stable performance. It is ideal for applications requiring high water clarity and safety, including drinking water treatment systems.

what is polyaluminum chloride used for

  • Water Treatment: Purification of drinking water, treatment of industrial effluents, and cleaning of swimming pool water.

  • Papermaking: Acts as a retention and drainage aid to enhance paper quality and production efficiency.

  • Sugar Industry: Used as a decolorizing and clarifying agent during sugar refining processes.

  • Other Industries: Applicable in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, ceramics, and precision casting.

how does polyaluminum chloride work

how does polyaluminum chloride work

  1. Coagulation: PAC neutralizes the electrical charge of colloidal and suspended particles in water.

  2. Flocculation: The neutralized particles bind together, forming larger and heavier flocs.

  3. Sedimentation: These flocs settle out naturally or can be removed by filtration, resulting in clear, purified water.

Note: The mass fractions of insoluble matter, iron, arsenic, lead, cadmium and chromium of the products listed in the table are all calculated based on an AI2O3 content of 10.0%. When the AI2O3 content is greater than 10.0%, the actual content should be converted into a product ratio of 10.0% AI2O3 to calculate the corresponding mass fraction. This product should also comply with relevant national laws, regulations and mandatory standards.

How to Use White High-Purity Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC):

  1. Preparation of Solution:

    • Concentration: Typically, a 1%-5% solution is prepared by gradually adding PAC into water while stirring.

    • Dissolution Time: Ensure complete dissolution of PAC in water, which generally takes less than 10 minutes, depending on the specific grade and water quality.

  2. Application Dosage:

    • Water Treatment: For municipal or industrial water treatment, the typical dosage ranges from 5–30mg/L depending on water quality, suspended solids concentration, and desired clarity.

    • Sewage Treatment: In sewage treatment plants, use approximately30–100 mg/L PAC, adjusted based on the level of contaminants.

    • Other Applications: For specific uses such as paper production or industrial wastewater treatment, dosage should be tailored according to the specific treatment needs and pollutant concentration.

  3. Mixing and Control:

    • Mix PAC solution thoroughly before applying it into the treatment system. Proper dosing and distribution are essential for effective flocculation and sedimentation.

    • Monitor pH levels to ensure the best performance of PAC (optimal pH range is typically between 4.0 - 7.5).

Storage & Handling:

  • Not to pack, transport and store together with toxic matters, keep away from water and moisture, not to damage package;

  • Store in a cool place out of direct sunlight;

  • Store in well ventilated area;

  • Store away from oxidizing agents and foodstuffs;

  • Prevent severe overheating as verheating may produce hydrogen chloride gas.
